Matt Ousdahl is first and foremost a husband to Melissa—his wife of 23 years—and a proud dad to their three daughters. His deepest joy comes from his family, whether that’s weekly Tuesday date nights with Melissa, cheering on his girls, or traveling together (especially if there’s a cruise deal involved).
Alongside his family life, Matt serves as the Lead Pastor of Arundel Christian Church (ACC) in Glen Burnie, Maryland, where he has led for over nine years with vision, creativity, and a passion for seeing people grow in their walk with Christ. His ministry is marked by bold risk-taking, a deep reliance on God’s call, and a commitment to building healthy, growing communities of faith.
Before ministry, Matt spent a decade as an entrepreneur. At just 24, he co-founded one of Delaware’s top marketing firms, leading a talented team and serving businesses across the region. Yet after years of success, God called him to leave the business world behind. At 34, without seminary training, ordination, or prior ministry experience, Matt joined ACC as Pastor of Family Ministries—and just fourteen months later, he stepped into the role of Lead Pastor. Under his leadership, ACC has seen vibrant growth locally and globally, averaging 20%+ annual increase in attendance and impact.
Matt’s personal story is also shaped by both loss and redemption. Growing up in Modesto, California, he experienced the sudden death of his mother during his sophomore year of high school. The care of his church during that season became a defining moment in his faith journey and ignited the call that still drives him today.
For over 20 years, Matt has spoken at retreats, youth camps, conferences, and main services on topics including leadership, marriage, parenting, entrepreneurship, church growth, men’s issues, and relationships. Known for customizing each message to fit the unique needs of the audience, he brings authenticity, biblical truth, and memorable storytelling to every stage.
Matt earned his B.S. in Religion from Liberty University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Pastoral Leadership. Outside of ministry, he enjoys solving escape rooms (he’s done over 100), playing Texas Hold’em with friends, or refinishing wood furniture in his garage. His sermons often include light-hearted nods to his favorite restaurants—Chuy’s and In-N-Out—reminding people that faith connects to everyday life.
